WORK

I am presently working as a research and story consultant to the feature film DALLAS IN WONDERLAND and serving as a coproducer and cowriter of a documentary, KING KILL 63, that will accompany the film. These projects are currently in production and I am working on them as of this moment.

have written five books previously. My work includes journalism, essays, interviews, stories, plays, and film criticism, and has appeared in such outlets as CTKA, Op Ed News, the San Antonio Current, the Examiner, History on the Web, The Free Press, and others. I have worked professionally as a claims trainer, a private investigator, and a film critic.

My newest release is the play THE DULL ARE THE DAMNED, which comes with a bonus one-act, FAIR IS FOUL.

A collection of some of the interviews I've done over the years with political figures such as Bobby Seale and film icons like Peter Bogdanovich.

"[Green has] a rare ability to bring together numerous important disciplines (history, philosophy, religion, science, journalism, film) and use them all to offer succinct essays that get to the heart of major issues…There's an elegance to the prose that makes these essays models of their craft."

 - JOSEPH MCBRIDE, author, Steven Spielberg: A Biography, Searching for John Ford, Into the Nightmare: My Search for the Killers of President John F. Kennedy and J. D. Tippit

"Reading Green is a treat for independent thinkers who may have forgotten for a spell that it really is the rest of the world that's crazy."

"Joe Green does an amazing job in this book. It is obvious that the information was gathered through much research. As another author of books about the Nov. 1963 coup I applaud him."

The Dull are the Damned

This play was published in September 2013.

In THE DULL ARE THE DAMNED, a schizophrenic science fiction writer receives first contact from some (possibly nonexistent) aliens, who offer him the chance to become an emissary to a new future. However, he first needs to become unstuck from his own past. Comic, tragic, and mindbending, this new play offers a multi-layered adventure with a touching finale.

And yes, e e cummings was one of the inspirations.

Also includes a one-act, FAIR IS FOUL, in which a political operative learns that his glorious future is paved by virtue of at least one murder.

MUSIC

Music?

Yeah. So my buddy Randy and I got together to produce a kind of louche synthpop that I referred to as Newest Wave owing to the fact that it's influences mostly come from the period between 1977-1982 in Europe, especially Great Britain and Germany.

Calling ourselves FANFIC, we produced an album in 2012 which was pretty well-received in some quarters. We may do another one if either of us ever finds the time - there's tons of stuff in the can waiting final polish.

"Fanfic is electro-pop with the soul of the synth era."

- POP REVENGE

"I like what I hear. You should, too. Especially if you're a synthpop/darkwave fan that misses the days of David Bowie's prominence or the pre-Violator version of Depeche Mode."

- MENTAL PIRATE

"Firmly in touch with it's inner goth but finding rays of hope in pop music the band construct songs that Joy Division wish they wrote, OMD would have written in 1982, and VNV Nation would dance to now."

- POP! STEREO

"I love how they reference an influence as 'Ministry's first album'...brilliant! Fanfic will certainly appeal to true synthpop fans."

-DJ Talbot, LIKE SUGAR

"Fanfic have some interesting new input to add to the world of electro-pop. The listener is transported to a dance floor in the middle of Berlin, as the warming tones wrap around the room. The duo are skilled musicians who have been able to bridge the Atlantic with lyrics and music meeting ina sonic boom."
